Paul Holtz

Paul Holtz is a cool guy I work with that can go off on tangents about movies with me all day. It was awesome just to sit and talk about old movies from our childhood. We'll have to have him back, as we have only scratched the surface of our movie fandom.

Epidode 8?

Did anyone notice that I skipped over episode 7? Well it goes right from 6 to 8. I actually recorded a solo episode and thought it was total crap, so I didn't put it out. That's part of the reason why it was 3 weeks between podcasts, but mostly because I had to move and lost the ghetto studio. Luckily I am moved into my new house and the ghetto studio 2 is up and running.

I'm not really sure how the metrics for my blog site are set up, but it looks like there are more than a few people who are actually listening to the podcast. Shout out to the people in France, Germany, and Poland who are listening. I also have some people in the UK but I know who those people are.

I need to expand my listener base, but I'm not sure how to do it. I thought that if I pissed off a group of people, then I could get more notoriety. Problem is, I don't want to piss people off. Unless maybe I piss off groups like the KKK or NAMBLA who are generally disliked already. If anyone has any suggestions then be sure to let me know. I should get really edgy and tailor myself to the high school crowd. I could take the stance of "Your parents wouldn't want you to listen to this". Then they would all want to listen.

We've got some pretty cool guests coming up. One is on par with me when it comes to movie references. And the one after that is one of the most interesting people I've ever met. So stay tuned and give me some feedback. Tell your friends that your BFFs (Brace Face Friends)!

Dentists

I realized that actually writing a blog, can also be a creative outlet for my mediocre talent. I'm also really excited for this weeks podcast to come out. Just the fact that I got my best friend to drive up and be my first guest, makes it all worth it. That episode will come out on Friday the 12th, and expect new episodes every Friday! It's perfect for those weekend road trips to pass the time.

I'm having a little trouble trying to pick the next guest. I think that Sam hit it out of the park, and I don't want the next guest to be in total contrast. I have a pool of people that I am going to pick from, the problem is putting them in the right order.

Since this is called The Brace Face Podcast, I felt compelled to write about the dentist. I hate the dentist! Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid of the dentist, I just don't like the whole experience. I think that all dentist are secretly sadists who get their kicks by inflicting pain on people. Where else can you go pay tons of money to be poked and prodded in the most uncomfortable of places? Well I can think of a few others, but you get my point. What's the biggest reason to go to the dentist? A check up to see if you have cavities. How do they find these cavities you ask? Well let me poke your teeth with a sharpened piece of metal! "Oh that hurts, well maybe we'll take some X-Rays". If you need a filling in between teeth, they shove metal shims in between to move them out of the way. Why don't they just go to town with a chisel and a hammer like they did in the old west? At least back then they would give you some whiskey to kill the pain. Also, it doesn't matter how much you brush or floss, your doing it wrong. I think that's why the dental hygienists are usually nice ladies, it's to lower your guard for when the dentist comes in to say he needs to drill or stab something. It's the modern day equivalent of good cop bad cop.

Aftermath of going live

Alright, it's only been a day that I've officially had my podcast up and open to the public. The response has been really awesome, with lots of people at least looking at my blog. Thanks to everyone that gave it a chance, hopefully they will stick around for the first few at least. But I want some feedback, either on my FB page or better yet on my blog. I had one person from Poland look at my blog. Obviously they took a wrong turn somewhere. I'm excited that the first one is up, and even more excited to get people to hear my first guest.

So here's my question to you, faithful followers of the Brace Face Podcast. What guest would you like to hear on the podcast? Anyone famous, alive, dead, or more practical. Leave me some comments and give me some suggestions. I'd love to have mc Chris on, I think that would be the pinnacle for me, as he's my favorite artist.

Shout out to Fritz also, for being the best producer I've ever had. Much thanks, Many wow.
